"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" Ephesians 1:7
You may have asked, “Who are the churches of Christ?” We are a Bible-based, Christ-centered, heaven bound body of believers. We believe that God has revealed His will for mankind within the pages of His Word, the Bible. And we strive to do His will, nothing added to it and taking nothing from it.
The church is made up of those who have obeyed the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and have been added to His church by the Lord Himself (Acts 2:37-47). The individual who does obey the Gospel according to the standards of the New Testament is then commanded to fulfill three mandates: Worship (John 4:23-24), Evangelize (Mark 16:15-16), and Benevolence (James 1:27).
Anything outside of these God-given mandates is outside of the New Testament teachings. New Testament salvation and worship are beautiful in their simplicity.
We have the Bible and the Bible only as our guide for all that we do. We simply follow our Lord, accepting His authority (Mt. 28:18-20), never trying to take the lead. We submit to Christ as the head of His church (Col. 1:18). What joy it brings when we simply follow our Lord’s authority in all that we do and do not do.
Do you want to worship and serve our Lord just as the church did in the days that the Lord’s church was established? If so, come and learn more. It is time to once again do things in Bible ways, never adding to, nor taking away from the Word of God (Rev. 22:18-19). We are Christians only, and only Christians.
For you see, the “church of Christ” is not a title, rather it is a descriptive term for the called out of Christ. This descriptive term identifies those who have obeyed the Gospel and are now gathering together to fulfill the duties of a collective body of Christ. The church of (belonging to/or possessive of) Christ are the people of Christ. Do you belong to Christ Jesus or just another denomination that a man has made? The Bible makes no mention of a hyphenated Christians. There are only Christians simply, and simply Christians (1 Cor 1:10-17).
